5 things people don't know about me

1. I HATE fly's. Seriously, this may sound a little crazy, but I really despise them. What is there purpose anyway? Do they have one?
2. I LOVE to ride horses. I used to run barrels when I was younger and I loved it. I wish that time and circumdtances would allow for more time to ride, and have my horse here.
3. My husband works nights. While I used to hate it, I have come to really enjoy my nights alone. Don't get me wrong, I would prefer Aaron to be home, but it is not so bad to not have anyone needing you. It is kind of a nice time:)
4. I MISS my sisters dearly. Everyone is all scattered in every which direction it seems and I hate it. I wish they would all come be my neighbors.
5. I am starting to LIKE NASCAR. I know what you are thinking... have you become white trash? No, I promise I have not. However, my dear, sweet husband loves it and therefore I have started to watch it a little bit more. I actually kind of enjoy it. I think I might actually like to go to a race someday:)

I TAG Brigette, Cort, Cayla, Kirsten, Celeste, and anyone else who wants to give it a shot.

Warning

OK... so there are three new posts below. Sorry for the overload, but I have had so many things I have wanted to post, but just haven't found the time. So, here you go. Read away, if you wish!

I Love a Good Read

I just finished this book and it was AWESOME. Seriously, for all of you moms who need some inspiration... this is the book for you. I truly loved it and felt like it was written just for me. I even went so far as to highlight all of the things that I wanted to remember, and that was quite a bit. As a mom I feel like I get busy with so many different things, and am being pulled in so many different ways that I am a "jack of all trades, master of none". I work from home and between that, my girls, husband, house, and everything that comes with it I can get a bit overwhelmed. This book helped me understand that I am doing my best. What I can do to get the best out of my kids, and let them get the best out of me. I want to share a couple of my favorite parts...

CHAPTER 1
" If we are going to stay in tune with the Spirit, we're likely going to have to spend some time praying on our feet, whether those prayers are whispered to Heaven while we are tackling a sink full of dirty dishes or comforting a fevered, restless child in the middle of the night. Alma's prayer (Mosiah 18:12) reminds us that praying on our feet is acceptable and likely even pleasing to the Lord."

CHAPTER 2
"While motherhood is not a perfect experience, we are blessed each day to experience perfect moments with our children. We have the opportunity to share many beautiful and perfect moments with our children every day. We just need to awake to those moments and attuned them so we can more fully embrace and enjoy them."

These are just a couple of my favorites of this book. I am a huge reader so if anyone has any "good reads" themselves... let me know!

Fresh New Look

I have been wanting to "update" our 2nd bathroom for quite a while now, and I am proud to say we finally did it. The pictures really don't do it justice because seriously, it turned out so cute! I wanted to do something cute for the girls, but I am NOT a "themie" (characters, animals, etc.) person. We got the perfect mix of a little girls bathroom, and something that is still great for visitors. We put in all new fixtures, painted, new black and white pictures of the girls, shower curtain, towels, bathmat... the works (courtesy of my mom for my birthday). It was kind of hard to get a good picture, but it gives you the idea. One project down, many more to go!

Gracie's Blessing Day

On Sunday, April 13,2008 we blessed out little Gracie Laryn. It was such a nice day, and Aaron gave a wonderful blessing. Gracie was so lucky to have Grandparents and Great-Grandparents there to see her. After, everyone came back to our house for some lunch and visiting. It truly was a great day, and I am so grateful for Aaron who honors his Priesthood to bless our family, and to all those who came to support us. We love our Gracie!

2 Months

I cannot believe that my Gracie girl is already two months old as of yesterday. Where does the time go? That nine months of carrying her dragged on and on, but now that she is here it is flying by. Why is that? She is smiling like crazy now, and is such a little doll baby. She is always so good. I love, love, love you Gracie!

2 Month Stats
Height: 24" (95%)

Photographer

Does anyone know anyone who takes pictures? I really want to get our family pictures done, but I don't want to have them done in the studio. I would like them to be taken outside somewhere. If anyone knows of someone that does this (for a REALLY good price), I would appreciate it.

My Day That Would Never End

It all began yesterday morning around 7:30am. Which by the way would not have seemed so early except that I was up 3 times in the night with my hungry 7wk old, when my darling Bailey gave me a wonderful wake up call by climbing in my bed and jumping all over me, and her little sister. Which then scared the living daylights out of Gracie and got her screaming like no tomorrow, which then made Bailey begin to cry for making Gracie cry. I should have known at that very instant that I should just stay in bed that day in order to avoid more chaos, but when duty calls.
We went a long fine for a while, but then it happened. I had to sit down at the computer for a while and do some work, so I was a little preoccupied. Bailey was being oh so very quite and what I thought was good, only to find out that a huge mess was lurking right around the corner. After about 10 minutes Bailey came running into the office with what do you ask? POOP all over her hands, legs, stomach:( Thankfully it was nowhere near her mouth. So, we made a mad dash to the bathtub where I let her soak, and I scoured the house looking for more of that nasty smell. Lo and behold I found some on the floor, so I got my gloves and went to scrubbing. In the middle of getting things cleaned up, Bailey came running out of the bathtub soaking wet, getting water EVERYWHERE. Just as I was closing in on one mess, there was another awaiting.
Finally, nap time for Bailey. Thankfully she went down without a fuss, but that was when Gracie decided it was her turn to give me a run for my money. From that point on she was quite the crier. Not like her at all, but what should I expect from a day like this?
I then ran out for a while to an eye appt. only to find out that not only did I need a stronger prescription for my blind as a bat eyes, but I need reading glasses to wear OVER my contacts while I read and work on the computer. What? I am only 25.
So, the day progressed with terrible two tantrums around every turn, and by about 7:00I am beyond my limit. My normally very easily put to bed 2 year old was put in her room at 7:30 and did not go to sleep until 9:15. My normally decent sleeping 7 week old did not finally close those precious eyes until 12:30am. By 1 I was ready to FINALLY lay down my weary head.
OK I know this is long and very drawn out, but I think I need to remember it for posterity sake, and for the sake of being humbled every now and again when I start to think that I have the world's perfect children.
Anyone else have these kind of days?
